For Australiana collectors, Read’s 1853 account of the Victorian goldfields with lithographic views of the diggings (Lot 90) or, manuscript material on the resistance of the Jandamarra Aboriginal people of the Kimberleys to the white invaders (Lot 112) might be of interest.

 Lots 301-362 are from the private library of an eminent Sydney Oceanic Art collector. The majority of the books are about Papua New Guinea  and surrounds, but there are also books on Tahiti, Hawaii, New Caledonia, New Zealand and Australia. Art and culture are strongly represented as well as cultures and traditions, objects and jewellery. A really fascinating collection.

We have early printings from Australia including 1820 Sydney Gazette done by George Howe Printer (Lot 56)

We have a few good military books including 1975 Grim Glory of the 2/19 Battalion A.I.F. in Malaya, WW2 (Lot 26) and The Scout by Idriess 1st ed (Lot 18).

There are mountaineering books on Everest (Lot 4) as wellas,  1896 Japanese Alps by Weston (Lot105)
