We have a first edition Ernest Giles’ Australia Twice Traversed with the maps (Lot 470).

There is also an unusual and beautiful book published by Aldus Press 1519 with illuminated initials and boarder(Lot 519).

And we cannot forget Samuel Clifford’s Scenes of Tasmania. Two albums with 120 albumen print views of Tasmania (Lot 608)

There are also some great: Folio Society, Aboriginal Australians, History, Science, economics, philosophy, Sydney Harbour, Asia, Photography and Maps.

Our next auction is on Friday the 16th December. It features a good collection of military books and ephemera.

We have diaries including one of George Clifford Leask of the 59th Battalion who gives a gripping account of being shot and how his stretcher bearer’s dodge the bullets while getting to safety.

There are also numerous unit histories from the Army, Navy, and Airforce particularly from the Australia, Britain and America. Of note a small WW1 60th Battalion archive and 2nd Battalion Unit History.  

There are a good number of lots about World War One including: Butler’s Australian Army Medical Service and  Official History of WW1 by CEW Bean.

Items about World War Two include: A collection of photographs of RAAF personal and aeroplanes from Australia, Middle East, Calgary (Canada) and Utah, Nevada, Kansas and California as well as the Nuremberg Trial proceedings.
