In our next auction we have our usual eclectic mix of items from art to philosophy, history, shipping, military and cars.

In terms of art books, we have both Australian and Masters artworks including an ink sketch by Brett Whiteley, etchings from Adrian Feint and Sydney Long. As well as restrikes by Renoir and sculpture by Rodin and Matisse amongst others.

We have some good and early philosophy books including a first edition of Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes, Humane Understanding by John Locke, Essays by David Hume, Works of Voltaire, Saint Augustine’s City of God

We have some good and interesting Australian History including the family bible of Gregory Blaxland, one of the three explorers to cross the Blue mountains. Barrington’s History of NSW in original wrappers.

We have about 50 shipping lots including books on the navy mostly Britain and Australia. A few books on Shipwrecks, Ship building, Steam, Trade, Travel and Voyages. Many also relate to the Australian Military.

First editions. Ian Fleming, Charles Bukowski, HG Wells, Arthur Rackham, Xavier Herbert, Richard Dawkins and more.

Car books including:  Lotus, Porsche, Jaguars, MG, Bentley, Rolls Royce. Races like the Grand Prix and Le Mans. A standout catalogue Raisonne of Porsche.

We also have good Natural History and Fishing.

When: 10AM Friday 14th July 2023.
Where: The auction will be held live in the room and broadcast online.

This sale we have our usual miscellaneous goodies from first editions, original artworks to natural history books.

We have an original first trade edition James Finnegans Wake by James Joyce in dustwrapper. (Lot 1)

This striking original etching of The Walkers by George Baldessin 1965 is great. (Lot 113)

We also have the Prodromus of the Zoology of Victoria by Frederick McCoy describing the descriptions of the living species of all classes of the Victorian Indigenous animals from 1878-1890.
