Rare Collection of Antiquarian Law Books

We are very pleased to be offering for sale an important collection of antiquarian law books which were gathered by Dr Peter Dingeldein, a now retired but eminent lawyer and banker who worked in the Middle East and Europe for 40 years.
The books range in age from a 1558 book of early court cases that the Catholic Church banned because of the author’s critical comments on the canon courts, to the 1902 first edition of Moore’s Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia.
A 1584 book by Pope Boniface V111 on Canon Law and another 1561 book by Balsamon which discusses the relation between canon law and civil law.
There are 19 books published in the eighteenth century including the 1618 History of Tithes published in London. There is a 1627 edition of Justinian Corpus Luris Civilis, the earlier edition of this title is number 4 in PMM.
The library comprehensively covers the history and foundation of modern law and includes four titles with earlier editions in PMM.
It is very unusual to find a collection of antiquarian law books of this importance in Australia.
