For the adventurous soul we have: Grey’s Expeditions of Discovery in North-West and Western Australia(Lot 165); Sturt’s Expedition into Central Australian(Lot 166); Sturt’s Southern Australia(Lot 164); Oxley’s Expedition into NSW(Lot 168); and the underrated Baron Field’s geographic memoir on NSW 1825(Lot 167). We also have Mrs Scoresby story of the expedition to Easter Island(Lot 497); a document from the missing Artic explorer Franklin 1841(Lot 293); and a limited edition of the Aurora Australis by Shackleton(Lot 583).

For those looking for the peculiar we have a very odd advertisement featuring Don Bradman eating a Peter’s ice cream(Lot 672); a pharmaceutical poster featuring a pure Monk surrounded by scantily clad women(Lot 53); four volumes on British oology(Lot 420), bird taxonomy(Lot 94); two Pianola rolls connected to Charles Kingsford-Smith(Lot 239); a Chinese pillow book(Lot 234); Melbourne Cup board games and a scarce and early Australian Violin catalogue(Lot 335).

We also have an early Australian dustwrapper “Proceedings of the First Australian Catholic Congress”(Lot 560) and some unique items from the Ion Idriess estate including unpublished manuscripts of Ion Idriess and illustration proofs Stranger Things by Edgar Holloway.

Bookplate collectors if you don’t already have it Neville Barnett’s Australian Bookplates is a must. We also have some good bookplates: Heinz Koeppler; Linda Bidgood’s by Unk White. JG Latham’s bookplate produced by Shirlow; books with Bookplate Sir Charles Augustus Fitzroy 1828 as well as his wife Lady Fitzroy 1820, James Kemsley by Gunther Deix and A S Herrod printing block and bookplates.
